Oppo A16, launched in July 2021, is available in two variants and three colors. The price of Oppo A16 for the 3GB RAM plus 32GB ROM variant in Bangladesh is ৳13,990 and ৳16,990 for the 4GB RAM plus 64GB ROM variant. The available colors of the phone are Pearl Blue, Space Silver, and Crystal Black.
The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery with a 10W charging facility. This battery can provide a standby time of up to 132 hours, a talk time of up to 39 hours, and a video playback time of up to 22 hours. However, the phone takes more than 3 hours to fully charge, which is something to be frowned upon.
The phone also has a 6.52 inches IPS LCD with 269 PPI pixel density, 480 nits brightness, 720 x 1600 resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. The phone’s display is not very spectacular; however, considering the price, it’s more than enough.
Regarding the phone’s performance, it has a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with an octa-core processor and IMG GE8320 GPU. Furthermore, the phone operates on Android 11, and a special ColorOS 11.1 custom user interface is provided for Oppo users. The phone also provided a 100,037 AnTuTu score, a decent score for a phone at this price.
Oppo A16 also has a triple camera setup at the back which consist of a 13MP main camera, a 2MP mono camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The rear camera can provide a total image resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels and record videos of 1080p at 30 frames per second.
Additionally, the phone has a single 13MP front camera with an image resolution capability of 3264 x 2448 pixels and an aperture of f/2.0. Just like the Redmi Note 8, the front camera of this phone can record videos 1080p at 30 frames per second. Moreover, the front camera has some beautiful features like HDR and Panorama.
Coming towards the phone’s memory, it’s 32GB and 64GB internal memory options.
These memory options are very low for users nowadays; however, considering the phone’s price in Bangladesh, it’s fair. Moreover, the memory can be extended up to 256GB using a micro SDXC.
The phone also has diverse connectivity options. It can support Wi-Fi of 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Bluetooth 5.0 and A2DP/LE are also available. Moreover, GPS, A-GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS for GPS positioning and FM radio are also supported. However, the phone doesn’t support NFC or Infrared connectivity.
Final Words
Overall, the Oppo A16 is a good phone out of the low-range phones and has decent features, considering its price in Bangladesh. We rate the phone 3 out of 5 and recommend it for anyone looking for a decent, durable phone at a low price. However, if you can pay a higher price for a phone, then you should also consider the Oppo A57.
