The Samsung Galaxy A51 is a mid-range smartphone launched in December 2019. The Samsung A51 price in Bangladesh is ৳27,499 with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. Its L-shaped primary camera provides a flagship-level design for a mid-priced phone.

Design and Display

This phone has a scratch-resistant glass front, a plastic back, and a plastic frame. The color range available is pretty impressive, containing prism crush black, prism crush white, prism crush blue, and prism crush pink. It weighs 172 grams and has a 158.5mm height, 73.6mm width, and 7.9mm thickness.

If we talk about the display of the A51, it’s a 6.5-inch super AMOLED display. A distinctive feature of this display is that it has a punch-hole front camera. Moreover, the display is protected with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Other display features include 405 PPI pixel density, 400 nits brightness, 1080 by 2400 pixels resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, and 20:9 aspect ratio.

Battery

The battery used in this phone is a 4000 mAh Li-Po, which is not the most efficient as other phones with similar capacities offer better performance. Regardless, 15W fast charging is included, which fully charges your phone in about 100 minutes. Furthermore, the battery provides 14.22 hours of video playback and 13.32 hours of internet browsing.

Performance

The performance of the A51 is quite decent, considering its price of ৳27,499 in Bangladesh. It has 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM with Android 10 operating system and one UI 2.1 custom user interface. Samsung Exynos 9611 chipset is used in addition to two octa-core processors, which enhance the performance factor.

Talking about the AnTuTu score, the phone resulted in an excellent 171,285 points. Also, the GFXBench T-Rex Score is 1791, and the GFXBench Manhattan score is 1081. Similarly, the phone resulted in a Geekbench multi-core score of 1196 and a single-core score of 328.

Rear Camera

Considering the A51’s price and specifications, the camera seems like the only feature this phone is worth buying for. The super steady mode and portrait mode works well to improve your camera experience.

The phone comes with a quad camera setup, with the primary wide camera being 48 MP. Its aperture is f/2.0, focal length is 26mm, sensor size is ½ inches, and pixel size is 0.8 µm. The second camera is a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 13mm focal length, and 1.12 µm pixel size.

The other two cameras are the 5 MP macro camera and the 5 MP depth sensor. The macro camera has an aperture of f/2.4 and a focal length of 40 mm. Similarly, the depth sensor has an f/2.2 aperture, 1/5.0 sensor size, and 1.12µm pixel size.

Samsung A51’s ৳27,499 price in Bangladesh makes it a decent, affordable option for users, but that’s only what is good about the phone. Samsung fails to make it an exceptional buy. The only attractive points about the phone are its design and the camera. Going further into detail, the A51 is the only affordable option in the market with a punch-hole front camera.

The in-display fingerprint could be better as it does not match up to speed compared to other phones. Similarly, the 4000 mAh battery could have been better as it isn’t the most efficient. Alternatively, you can consider Samsung Galaxy A13 in this price range.
