Key specifications

The Y15s comes in a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM variant and was launched in November 2021. It features a large 6.51-inch IPS LCD display, a dual rear camera setup, and a 5000mAh battery to support your daily usage. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset and runs on Android 11 Go with Funtouch OS 11.1. It supports dual SIM usage and 4G LTE for reliable network connectivity.

Display and design

With its 6.51-inch IPS LCD screen and HD+ resolution (720×1600), the Y15s offers a comfortable viewing experience for watching videos, browsing, or social media. The phone has a modern look and feels durable in hand. It includes a side fingerprint sensor for faster unlocking and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack, making it versatile for everyday use.

Camera

The Y15s has a dual rear camera setup: 13MP for the main sensor and 2MP for depth sensing. These cameras are sufficient for clear outdoor shots and casual photos. The 8MP front camera can handle selfies and video calls adequately, especially in good lighting conditions. While the camera system is basic, it meets the needs of regular users who don’t demand professional-level photography.

Performance and software

Powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 chip and 3GB RAM, the vivo Y15s is designed for standard tasks like calling, messaging, browsing, and light gaming. The phone runs on the Android 11 Go Edition, which is a lighter version of Android, making it suitable for devices with modest hardware. The Funtouch OS 11.1 provides extra features and a user-friendly interface, although high-end performance or heavy multitasking may not be its strength.

Battery and charging

A standout feature of the Y15s is its 5000mAh non-removable battery. This large battery can easily support a full day of regular usage, such as social media, calls, and YouTube. The 10W wired charging will top up the phone at a steady pace, and the device also offers 5W reverse charging so you can help charge other devices in a pinch, using the Y15s as a power bank.

Should you buy the Y15s?

The vivo Y15s is ideal for users on a tight budget who need a reliable phone for basic everyday tasks.
